In 2021, KidSide launched the Amplifying Impact campaign with the goal of raising $40,000 to hire a Licensed Psychologist to oversee FIVE doctoral students to provide critical services to around 250 low-income families in need  at no cost to the families. With the help of our Partners and donors like you, we reached our goal and we are now fully funding therapeutic services being provided by Family Forensic Services of Florida to children and families in need that are referred to them by Family Court Services.   But we need your help to continue to fund this program!

Family Court Services (FCS) assists parents and children caught in the web of high-conflict cases in the Miami-Dade Family Court system. FCS provides critical assistance, counseling, and other resources to children from low-income families struggling with high-conflict separation or divorce, who may be suffering from domestic violence, abuse, or neglect.

FCS is severely underfunded, and caseloads are extremely high. Without the support of KidSide, many children and families would not have access to the life-changing therapeutic services offered by FCS. KidSide supports the work of FCS by fully funding direct clinical services to these vulnerable children and families, but it is simply not enough to address the sheer number of those in need.

Psychological evaluations for low-income families are another critical service with a waiting list.  They are a valuable tool in assisting judges and magistrates that preside over complex high-conflict cases make decisions in the best interest of minor children that are often experiencing abuse or neglect at the hands of parents or guardians.  These children are vulnerable to not only physical abuse, but also emotional and psychological abuse.   Children that experience emotional trauma and are unable to process it properly may suffer from anxiety, behavioral changes, health issues, and cognitive function deficiencies that may affect their ability to function and live a productive and happy life.
