Judge Victoria del Pino, Recipient of the 2024 Maxine Cohen Lando Award

Judge Victoria del Pino is an Associate Administrative Judge of the Family Division, a division she has served in since June 1, 2019. Her judicial career began with her election to the County Court bench in 2007, where she most notably served as the Associate Administrative Judge for the Domestic Violence Division from 2013 until 2016. In December 2016, Judge del Pino was elected to county court and appointed to circuit court, where she presided in the Criminal Division until her tenure in the Family Division began in 2019. 

Beyond her courtroom duties, Judge del Pino has made significant contributions to the legal community. She chaired the Domestic Violence Committee of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar from 2014 to 2016 and served as its Vice Chair from 2009 to 2014. Her leadership extended to the Florida Bar Family Law and Criminal Law Rules of Procedure Committees, as well as the Conference of County Court Judges of the State of Florida, where she was appointed the Legislative Chair from 2009 to 2011, and Secretary from 2013 to 2016. As a Circuit Court Judge, she served as the Third DCA Representative of the Circuit Court Conference of Judges from 2018 to 2021, as Secretary from 2021-2022, and is currently the Chair-Elect.

Throughout her judicial journey, Judge del Pino has demonstrated a profound commitment to justice and legal service, particularly in the realms of domestic violence and child welfare. This commitment is reflected in her involvement with the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust’s Domestic Violence Oversight Board, Kidside, the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, the First Family Law Inns of Court, the Miami Dade Bar, and CABA, from which she has received numerous awards and recognitions, including, the “Perla de Esperanza” Victims of Domestic Violence Judicial Award, the “Alberto Romero, Jr. Making a Difference Award,” the U.S. D.O.J. Office for Victims of Crime “Justice for All Award,” Pro Bono Service Awards and Distinguished Leadership Awards. She has also shared her expertise on domestic violence at the Board Certification Review for the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) in January 2016. Her legal career, preceded by her work as a Traffic Magistrate from 2004 to 2006 and her practice in Family and Criminal Law since 2000, showcases her extensive experience and dedication to the field. Her early career as an Assistant Public Defender in Monroe County in 1999 further underscores her commitment to public service.

Prior to her judicial career, Judge del Pino worked as a Traffic Magistrate and practiced both family and criminal law. She was also a journalist, working for notable media outlets such as WPLG Channel 10, Telemundo, and Univision. Judge del Pino is married to County Court Judge Eleane Sosa-Bruzon, and together they are raising their 15-year-old daughter, Emma.

Judge del Pino’s exemplary service has earned her the prestigious Honorable Maxine Cohen Lando Award. This award, named in honor of Judge Maxine Cohen Lando, recognizes individuals who dedicate themselves to protecting the rights of those in the court system, particularly children. Judge Lando, a former KidSide Inc. Board member, was renowned for her passionate advocacy, ethical standards, and community involvement. The award celebrates Judge del Pino’s unwavering dedication to serving children in the court system with excellence, passion, and commitment, following in the footsteps of Judge Lando’s legacy.
